The Missionaries of the Poor Supporters' Association (MoPSA) is a United Kingdom based registered charity whose main object is to relieve Third World poverty by raising funds for the work of the Missionaries of the Poor.

One of the brothers tending to a resident of Faith centre whose leg had
just been amputated from disease.

It is a support group for the communities of Brothers of the Missionaries of the Poor who dedicate their whole lives to helping people in need: people with physical and mental disabilities, those with learning difficulties, street children, those suffering from leprosy, AIDS, etc. The Brothers have residential centers for the poor in Jamaica, India, the Philippines, Haiti and Uganda.

Some of the older boys in Bethlehem centre just after being fed and washed.

We raise money which is then sent to where the needs are, for both development work in the various residential centers, as well as for the immediate and urgent requirements. Our bank, Lloyds TSB Bank, transfer the funds free of commission charges.

Nothing given for the poor is retained for administrative costs.

(Such costs are donated separately).

Our Experiences:

Several of us on the MoPSA committee have spent time working with the poor and destitute in Kingston, Jamaica and we have seen, first hand, the needs and the committed and unselfish work of the Brothers in trying to help the poorest of the poor regardless of their religion.

Our Chairman, Fr Ken sometimes goes to spend a few weeks working with the Brothers and keeping up to date with their requirements.

Twenty year old Andrew Meikle recently spent a month working with the Missionaries of the Poor in Kingston, Jamaica. Click here for more information
